Talk Like a Pirate Day

Aye, this is the 21st century at best, a holiday definitely in'ented t' help people waste time at work or school. Me was disinclined t' guess that this is be so popular, but me suppose the mo'ies o' the past fi'e years have pushed pirates int' mainstream pop culture. So enjoy your Talk Like a Pirate Day!

...and for those that may have wondard, I actually don't speak Pirate, I just used the online translator from www.talklikeapirateday.com/translate/index.php

Senior Gift?

I got an interesting email today from a group on campus that is responsible for the "Senior Gift." This year they will be running events and reaching out to the senior class with the purpose of "raising money for an endowment that is going to be left in our name and will give back to GW for decades after we leave."

Isn't my tuition enough (bear in mind GW recently became the first university to report an over $50,000 price tag when you include housing and "necessary expenses") I'm proud of my school and happy with the time I've spent here, but my parents and I have bled substantial green already to pay GW tuition for four years. The last thing I want to do is give them more money. If I have extra change to throw around later in my life I'll consider giving it to education, but GW doesn't get any more from me right now.
